AND THE UK’S JAKE MORLEY
- PRESENTED by MUSIC PEI -
ANNOUNCES SHOWS FOR NS, NB, AND PEI
PEI Rising Star Dylan Menzie teams up with the UK singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso, Jake Morley for the Music PEI/British Underground Artist Exchange Program.
Part of Showcase PEI, the Artist Exchange Program, in partnership with British Underground, (the music industry association of the UK) and ROSA (the music association of Denmark) pairs artists from PEI with artists from the UK and Denmark for collaboration, performance, and cultural exchange between Prince Edward Island and the partnered countries. The artists will co-write for two days, tour the Maritimes together, and perform at Showcase PEI. This is a reciprocal program, with the PEI artists heading to England and Denmark for similar opportunities in those countries.
This year, PEI’s Dylan Menzie will partner with UK artist Jake Morley. They will each perform their own music and also present their collaborations in these unique shows at venues throughout the Maritimes. As part of the exchange, Dylan will travel to the UK in 2018 and showcase at a music conference in the UK as well as touring with Jake.
Both performers offer a dynamic and engaging live show and together display perfect musical chemistry on stage. Jake and Dylan kick off their collaboration with a performance at the tenth annual Showcase PEI for more than 50 international and domestic music buyers from 11 countries.
They will then perform four dates in the Maritimes, beginning Thursday, September 21 at The Carleton in Halifax, followed by two shows in New Brunswick - in Albert County and St. Andrews, and wrapping up with an engagement at the Watermark Theatre in Rustico, PEI. The complete tour is as follows:

About Dylan Menzie:
PEI’s Dylan Menzie is well-known in the talent-rich Atlantic Canadian music market. with a sprawling vocal range and compelling approach to composition. In 2016, he was a finalist in CBC’s annual Searchlight competition on the back of his breakout single, “Kenya,” which spent two weeks at number one on CBC Radio 2’s Top 20 leading up to the release of his 2016 album Adolescent Nature. Drawing clear influence from the likes of My Morning Jacket, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, and Joel Plaskett without being derivative of any one, the quality of these songs heavily belies the young artist’s age. Dylan has performed alongside acts like City & Colour and Ron Sexsmith and at major events including Canadian Music Week and the Edmonton Folk Festival.
About Jake Morley:
The UK’s Jake Morley was a featured artist at the FolkNorth music conference in Toronto last year. He has played over 400 gigs across the UK, Europe and Canada, and supported leading lights of modern English songwriting, including Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard and Lucy Rose. He has performed at countless British festivals, including the world-renowned Isle of Wight Festival and the Secret Garden Party and recently completed his first cross-Canada tour this summer that included Stanfest, North County Fair, Vancouver Folk Festival, and more. His second album ‘The Manual’, released in the UK and Canada in summer 2016 received glowing reviews .
